About Me

Kat Headshot.jpg

As a mother of three and a stepmother of five in a complex blended family, I have a personal understanding as to the difficulties that life can throw at you.  I believe that the complexities of blended families are extremely underrepresented and not adequately addressed in society.  I enjoy working with adolescents and feel that they are truly misunderstood in so many ways.  I also enjoy working with individuals in making value-added changes in their lives.  I don’t like to focus on what is not working in a person’s life but instead like to focus on identifying the natural strengths in a person’s life or relationship and using these strengths to make lasting change.

I’m Katerra Davis LMFT, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing mental health services in Victorville, California.  I graduated from Argosy University in 2013 with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.  I have an additional Master’s degree in Forensic Investigations from National University that I obtained in 2010 and my undergraduate degree is in Criminal Justice from California State University San Bernardino.

I have a history of working with adolescents on probation for violent felonies and with children in the Los Angeles County Foster Care system who were considered to be “high-risk” for placement.  I also have a history of working with adults who struggle with serious mental health illnesses.  I worked in both outpatient and community in-patient settings in San Bernardino County and Los Angeles County.

In 2019, I made the decision to open my own private practice in the Victor Valley area where I have been providing individual, marriage, and family counseling services for members in the community.  Through private practice, I have been able to provide services that focus on depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, adjustment disorders, and individuals with a history of trauma.  I have assisted many individuals with being able to manage stress, anger issues, work/life balance, and life transitions to name a few.

I have certified training through the Los Angeles County Department of Behavioral Health in Trauma-Informed Care and Human Trafficking Awareness and I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
